Lockdown Liberties: Poetry and Spoken Word Evening

In Person

All Together in Dignity is an anti poverty organisation that aims to give a voice back to the voiceless. The ‘Lockdown Liberties’ writers group was set up by the ATD community during the pandemic. It is a group in which community members with experiences of poverty are able to connect by writing and sharing poetry. The participants are hosting an open mic poetry/spoken word event where they will share personal writings, poems, hopes, dreams and reflections on life – spanning themes of poverty, homelessness, addiction, love, family and more. It is difficult to engage with art when we cannot recognise ourselves within it. The work presented to the public will demonstrates that those experiencing poverty have immense talent and creativity which should not be overlooked. Refreshments provided.
