Hear the story of this magnificent Georgian house. Once the exclusive home of wealthy families it became a hub of nationalist activity from 1909 when Alderman Walter Cole became its owner. Patrick Pearse, Arthur Griffith and Michael Collins all visited the house and you can see the room where members of the first Dáil met in 1919 when “on the run”. The widow and children of Captain Sean Connolly who was killed in the 1916 Rising lived here for several years after his death. The house is now home to the Dublin Adult Learning Centre. Tours run every 30mins.
