Creatures Of The Night (2021): Short Film by Memi Koupa

The Embassy of Greece in Ireland, with the support of Drama International Short Film Festival, presents online the short film ‘Creatures of the night’ (2021) written and directed by Memi Koupa. A creature of the night wanders around the streets of Athens, protecting the vulnerable. Is it an urban myth or does it really exist? During one night, the characters of the movie that will intersect with him will approach each other and for the first time in a while will fall asleep. Memi Koupa is a director and screenwriter with many years of experience in the production of commercials, experimental and fiction short films as well as music videos and short documentaries. The film (15min) is in Greek with English subtitles and is recommended PG.

This event is part of the European Culture Trail – a EUNIC Ireland (European Union National Institutes for Culture) initiative for Culture Night in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in Ireland.

The Embassy of Greece in Ireland, with the support of Drama International Short Film Festival, presents online the short film ‘To Vancouver’ (2021) written and directed by Artemis Anastasiadou. Two siblings, a spell, wounded landscapes and an inevitable escape. Is it a migration story or the chronicle of an extinction? Artemis Anastasiadou is a director and screenwriter from Thessaloniki. She studied theatre at the Department of Fine Arts at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Film Directing at the University of Austin, Texas. Her latest film ‘I am Mackenzie’ won the Texas Best Short Film Award at SXSW2019, and the Tonia Marketaki Award at the Drama International Short Film Festival. The film (23min) is in Greek with English subtitles and is recommended PG.
