The exhibition will feature the art of two Slovenians living and creating in Ireland. Fascinated by the majestic Irish landscape they started creating different pieces of art. Maja Ban was born in Slovenia in 1979. Ever since she was a child, she enjoyed drawing. She developed a unique surrealistic style full of symbolism and intriguing details. The fascination with the wild Irish wind led her to start creating sculptures inspired by wind and air itself. Vesna Podgorski was born in Slovenia in 1974. She started making her wooden jewellery after realising the amount of wooden waste from other processes. She hired a workshop and started designing wooden jewellery from waste. The forms come very intuitively and give new life to wood.

This event is part of the European Culture Trail – a EUNIC Ireland (European Union National Institutes for Culture) initiative for Culture Night in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in Ireland.
