James Joyce and the Greek Language

In Person

Much of Joyce’s novel is based right in the heart of Leopold Bloom’s Northside. Bloom bought his breakfast kidneys in nearby Eccles St. Joyce, lived on Fitzgibbon St and attended Belvedere College. Although Latin was his best subject there, he decided not to study ancient Greek and it was only later in Trieste that he started learning modern Greek from native speakers.  Learn some modern Greek with James Joyce!

Agus sinne ag ceiliúradh 100 bliain ó fhoilsíodh Ulysses le James Joyce i ndathanna bhratach na Gréige, táimid ag féachaint ar chonas ar éirigh leis an Seoigeach an nuaGhréigis a labhairt agus a scríobh.
