The Tobin Boyle Duo presents a selection of arrangements for two guitars from Scarlatti to Jarc for Culture Night 2022.

The Tobin Boyle Duo formed in the mid-2000s. They have been playing classical and world music arranged for two guitars around Dublin since. The duo is made up of Luke Tobin and Gerard Boyle. Luke Tobin studied music at the Hochschule für Music in Vienna with Luise Walker. Since returning to Ireland he has been involved in performing, recording and teaching. Gerard Boyle studied music in Dublin and Edinburgh and had further masterclasses with Manuel Barrueco and Xuefei Yang.

Reading by Karl MacDermott from 58% Cabbage

Kevin Street Library is delighted to host a reading by Karl MacDermott from his new comic novel ‘58% Cabbage’. Set in Galway, ‘58% Cabbage’ chronicles the hapless adventures of a middle-aged everyman as he grapples with both a sense of loss and a loss of sense while attempting to pursue his comedy dreams. Calamity and hilarity accompany Roddy Bodkin on his odyssey through funerals, sex, friendship, part-time employment, memory, family and Ireland.

Former stand-up comedian Karl MacDermott is an Irish comedy writer. He has written for television and radio in both Ireland and the UK and is the author of two books of comic fiction. He is currently writer-in-residence in his home in Dublin.
