Whitefriar Street Church

Visit the Church & the Shrine of St Valentine

In Person

The Carmelite Fathers invite visitors to experience the beautiful Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel or Whitefriar Street Church as it is more commonly and affectionately known to generations of Dubliners. The church is home to the relics of St Valentine, the patron saint of love. Carmelite Friars will be available throughout the evening to answer visitor questions on the historic building and its significant place in Dublin city life over the years. Visitors will see the many shrines within this iconic church including the Statue of Our Lady of Dublin which is an Irish Oak carving predating penal times and make a quiet visit to St Valentine. The church is also home to the magnificent Kenneth Jones Organ, one of the finest in Dublin.

From 7.30, the An Garda Síochána Male Voice Choir will be hosting a free choral concert, featuring themselves, the Dresden Police Choir from Germany, and guests The Net Chords.
