Volunteer Coordinator

We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to run the Culture Night Dublin volunteer programme. The candidate should be enthusiastic, confident and efficient when dealing directly with people. The Volunteer Coordinator will report to the Dublin Coordinator.

Duties include but are not limited to:

– Processing volunteer application forms and fielding enquiries
– Utilising marketing tools such as outreach programs, e-mails, and volunteer databases
– Organising and addressing volunteers at the volunteer introduction sessions
– Responsibility for creating schedules, as well as assigning tasks and positions to volunteers in accordance with their availability and task preferences
– Relaying schedules and updates to volunteers
– Monitoring of volunteers to ensure scheduling is maintained
– Acting as the point of contact for volunteers prior to and during the event
– Acting as liaison between event staff and volunteers
– Relaying information to volunteers about the Culture Night Dublin programme
– Ensuring the Culture Night Dublin’s purpose/mission is conveyed to the public
– Ensuring adherence to Covid-19 guidelines if applicable

Individual Specification:

– Enthusiastic and interested in meeting new people
– Organised, structured and systematic in their work
– Ability to take initiative and work independently
– Aptitude for working quickly and efficiently
– Ability to work in a busy work environment with a high level of time management
– Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Google Workspace
– Flexibility regarding work schedule – i.e. occasional evening work
